While many of the Mental Health Coordination (MHC) services are transferable to documentary film crews and projects, I offer special consideration for the participants and protagonists involved. Services include individualized on-set and off-set support for participants and crew members facing challenges related to mental health experiences during production. Prioritization is given to increased transparency, ongoing consent check-ins, and open communication to ensure the well-being of all participants. Additionally, we assist in preparing individuals for the exposure that comes with film screenings and social media, providing strategies for protection and mental health management once the film is released. Furthermore, we offer container practices specifically geared towards film editors, helping them manage the emotional impact of working closely with sensitive and potentially distressing content. This comprehensive approach ensures that both participants and crew are supported throughout the entire documentary process.
Mental Health Coordination is not Psychotherapy.
Services provided by Mental Health Coordinators are not designed, nor should they be construed, as a substitute for professional mental health therapy, counseling or treatment. Click below for a helpful resource explaining the differences.
